Today's meditation verses are Genesis 3:6-10 NLT:
6 The woman was convinced. She saw that the tree was beautiful and its fruit looked delicious, and she wanted the wisdom it would give her. So she took some of the fruit and ate it. Then she gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it, too.
7 At that moment their eyes were opened, and they suddenly felt shame at their nakedness. So they sewed fig leaves together to cover themselves.
8 When the cool evening breezes were blowing, the man and his wife heard the Lord God walking about in the garden. So they hid from the LordGod among the trees. 9 Then the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?”
10 He replied, “I heard you walking in the garden, so I hid. I was afraid because I was naked.”
In this faith walk, we will all face moments where we do something we were not supposed to do. The truth is, many of us sometimes put ourselves in positions that make falling easier. The real question is: What do you do after you fall short?
Too often, we turn our mistakes into excuses. You stopped reading your Bible. You stopped praying. You even convinced yourself not to attend church. Shame told you to withdraw. Condemnation told you to disappear.
But let me submit this to you: God is not holding a grudge against you because of your mistakes (Romans 8:1). He is not like us, keeping score or replaying offenses. When we fall short, His instruction is simple: confess (1 John 1:9).
The mistake is not the fall. The mistake is trying to cover yourself instead of allowing God to cover you.
In Genesis 3:6–10, we witness the fall of humanity. After Adam and Eve sinned, they realized they were naked. Their first response was to sew fig leaves together to cover themselves (Genesis 3:7). Then they hid from the presence of the Lord among the trees of the garden (Genesis 3:8).
They covered themselves. Then they hid themselves.
How many things could have been restored more quickly if we had simply told God the truth? If we had run toward Him instead of away from Him? If we had trusted Him enough to believe that He could handle our honesty?
Adam and Eve tried to run from the Source—only to discover that life outside of Him left them exposed.
Then comes the powerful question:“Where are you?” (Genesis 3:9)
This was not an interrogation. It was an invitation.
God was not asking for information. He was inviting Adam to step out of hiding. Imagine this: after they disobeyed Him, God Himself was the One searching for them in the garden.
God already knows where you are.He asks the question so that you will acknowledge where you are—in your walk,in your obedience,in your relationship with Him.
Falling short is not permission to stay down. It is not a reason to remain hidden. There is still work to be done. There is still purpose on your life. There is a generation attached to your obedience.
The enemy wants you frozen in shame so that you never move forward in Kingdom assignment. But shame is not your portion. Hiding is not your inheritance.
Today, we declare that you will step boldly into the light of God.
You will confess. You will rise. You will return.
Now say it out loud:
“I will not hide anymore.”
