Read Matthew 13 before reading this devotional!

Welcome to the third month of the Year of Disruption. The Lord told us that this is the year where business as usual will come to an abrupt end by divine interruption. Our lives, our ministry, and even our world systems will not be the same (Isa. 43:19). !

For the month of March (the best month of the year, cough cough), we are going to hone in on the focus of We Won't Just See, But Interpret. Before I share what the Lord has put in my spirit for this week, we have to break down this topic.

Last month, we focused on the topic of Apocalyptic Exposure: No More Hiding. Specifically, we studied how God reveals things to us according to Deuteronomy 29:29. Let me make something abundantly clear. Seeing something from God is not anything special. It is not an indicator that you have a good relationship with God. Everybody sees from God, even unbelievers. Look at what Romans says::

Romans 1:18-20 NLT

18 But God shows his anger from heaven against all sinful, wicked people who suppress the truth by their wickedness.19 They know the truth about God because he has made it obvious to them.20 For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.

Don't get me wrong, the closer you get to God, the more you see. However, simply seeing is elementary. God reveals the moment He walks on the scene. This is the reason why Jesus said, because of Me, there is no cloak for his sin (John 15:22). The nature of God is to reveal, even to those who did not ask for it.

In Matthew 13, as Jesus is teaching everyone, He speaks to them in parables, which were symbolic stories using earthly comparisons to get His message across. In other words, God was speaking in code. He was revealing, but in a concealed way. He put it out in the open, but the meaning was wrapped up in symbolism.

However, when He spoke to His own disciples, the ones He had a close relationship with, He got rid of the coded language and spoke plainly. It led to the disciples asking why He spoke in parables:

Matthew 13:18-20 NLT

10 His disciples came and asked him, “Why do you use parables when you talk to the people?” 11 He replied, “You are permitted to understand the secrets of the Kingdom of Heaven, but others are not. 12 To those who listen to my teaching, more understanding will be given, and they will have an abundance of knowledge. But for those who are not listening, even what little understanding they have will be taken away from them. 13 That is why I use these parables, For they look, but they don’t really see.   They hear, but they don’t really listen or understand.

Last month, getting a revelation was level one. This month, we are going up another level. Once we get the revelation, we don't want to be lost in the crowd. Instead, we want the understanding that comes with being in His inner circle (Matthew 13:11). We don't just want to see the symbols, but we want the plain understanding where He tells us what those symbols represent (Mark 4:34). We won't just see, but we will interpret.

Every devotional, our special Bible study with Apostle Elijah Colas (register for that here), and our Monthly Summons will focus on how to develop interpretation through relationship and communication with the Holy Spirit (John 16:13).

For this week specifically, understand that confusion is not Kingdom. The Bible specifically says the Lord is not the author of confusion, so it is impossible to be where He is and be confused (1 Corinthians 14:33). Confusion is not in His vicinity. If you are confused, could it be you are not close enough? The disciples who stayed close (Siri, cue “Stay Close” by Caleb Gordon) received divine understanding (Matthew 13:10–12; Luke 8:9–10). Again, we won't always see it all or understand it all, but we should at least be able to understand the things God wants us to understand (Deuteronomy 29:29).

Sometimes, God holds back a revelation or interpretation for a certain time (Daniel 12:9), but other times, the Devil is blocking what God already revealed.

Your ability to interpret and understand what you see from God is such a threat to the enemy that he will try to block it (2 Corinthians 4:4). Daniel received a vision from God, and an angel went to answer his prayer for understanding, but he testified that a principality held him up to the point where he had to call Michael to help him fight. The message was three weeks late (Daniel 10:12–13). What if your interpretation was already released, but agents of Satan are holding you up?

As we study, pray, and fast this month, I decree and declare revelation and divine interpretation are being released (Jeremiah 33:3)! You will not just see like never before, but you will understand like never before, and your understanding will lead to your conversion (healing, deliverance, transformation, and growth) (Acts 3:19). Are you ready? Let's grow together.
