We Won't Just See, But Keep Seeking To Understand

Meditation Verses: Proverbs 2:2-6 NLT:

“Tune your ears to wisdom, and concentrate on understanding. Cry out for insight, and ask for understanding. Search for them as you would for silver; seek them like hidden treasures. Then you will understand what it means to fear the Lord, and you will gain knowledge of God. For the Lord grants wisdom! From his mouth come knowledge and understanding.

This week as I was praying and asking the Lord for what He wants me to discuss in this devotion, He kept placing it on my heart to not give up seeking for the interpretation.

Dreams and visions have come, but you still haven’t received that interpretation/ understanding. You may have been praying all week, and nothing has come. But as you continue to sow your seeds in the secret place, the Lord shall speak. Your hearing shall be increased. The Bible says God is a rewarder to those who diligently seek him (Hebrews 11:6). Have you ever lost something and got so frustrated that you wouldn’t give up searching for it until you found it?

As you seek you will find (Matthew 7:7), as you read and read, understanding will come, as you pray and fast, may your ears be in tune every day and not just for a moment. May you remain in position, in the seeking because in the seeking you will find. I know this may have been repeated and we know the scriptures, but it takes you experiencing and living out searching for God and searching for that thing that you’ve been wanting to fill your heart.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness for they shall be filled (Matthew 5). So, keep searching and keep asking God those questions. You may have to do research and seek counsel along the way but don’t give up in the seeking!

A simple situation that connects to today’s devotional is a task I had at work. Last Saturday, my coworker asked me for a birthday button to give to a particular guest. In the location where she decided to meet with me, the style of the merchandise cart is smaller and has compacted dressers. From that point, I knew where the button was placed but for some reason, I rushed to find the button in every drawer and didn’t find it. I said to myself “I know these buttons are here! I know it.” Then, I went back and searched again in the top drawer and there it was. My coworker reacted and said, “wow it was there this whole time and you knew it was there and didn’t give up on searching for it even in the midst of searching and double checking."

Which led me to Matthew 7:7-8 NLT:

“Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.” “For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.”

Even with Daniel 10:12 being our theme scripture, I came across Daniel 9, and he exemplified consistent prayer, repentance, and seeking God from a pure heart. Then, the Lord sent an angel to Daniel concerning the vision he had and blessed him with the skill of understanding.

“Now while I was speaking, praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the Lord my God for the holy mountain of my God, yes, while I was speaking in prayer, the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, reached me about the time of the evening offering. And he informed me, and talked with me, and said, “O Daniel, I have now come forth to give you skill to understand. At the beginning of your supplications the command went out, and I have come to tell you, for you are greatly beloved; therefore consider the matter, and understand the vision:”

Daniel 9:20-23 NKJV

Therefore, as you are spending time with God this week, seeking, praying, and sacrificing your time for God, I decree and declare that He will grant us understanding like Daniel! May our levels of understanding grow and mature. I decree and declare that we shall have the grace to be patient (Galatians 5:22) and sit in the presence of the Lord (Matthew 26:40-41). We shall not grow weary in seeking! And for some of us maybe God wants us to change our approach in the asking, and the seeking, then come and knock at his door.

Amazing devotional. Literally this week while I was doing my Bible time with my husband. We were focusing on Matthew 7: 7-14. Asking , seeking and knocking. The fact that this devotional is speaking about that is definitely no coincidence. Thank you! We truly serve an awesome God!
