Don't Be A Hindrance

READ MARK 5

Many times when we read about the miracles Jesus had done, people were bound by a certain illness or condition for a period of time. These illnesses were caused by unclean or evil spirits sent to disrupt people's lives and the order of the Kingdom of Heaven.

These spirits were stopping people from reaching their full potential until they experienced freedom through Jesus Christ (John 8:36).

In Mark 5, a man named Jairus approached Jesus to heal his daughter. Jesus agreed, but along the way, a woman who had suffered from a blood illness for twelve years caught His attention. This woman went to multiple doctors and spent all she had to be cured of her illness. Her final straw came when she heard about a man named Jesus, and she decided to reach out.

Why do I mention this? This woman was so desperate to be loosed from the shackles of her illness that she willingly put it all on the line. She couldn't remain bound by something that held her back from reaching her full potential. Many of us become comfortable in trauma or unfortunate experiences and wonder why life feels like an endless cycle. Have you sacrificed everything to get Jesus's attention?

Many believe that the physical touch was what got Jesus' attention, but the reality is that it was her faith. She realized, "This illness is a hindrance to my life, and if I could just touch this one Man whom I've heard about, maybe I might be healed."

Now back to Jairus. In the midst of waiting for his daughter's healing, Jesus' time with the woman with the issue of blood could have easily been seen as a delay. But remember, verse 24 clearly says that Jesus agreed to go with him to heal his daughter. After this, someone from Jairus' house came and told him that his daughter was dead while Jesus was still present.

Can I tell you that even when you are in the presence of God, the enemy will still find a way to creep in and cause you to believe that God won't work things out for you. It is so easy to misinterpret certain experiences and believe the worst when you are going through a struggle.

When Jesus got to Jairus' house, He made everyone who did not believe leave because He could not let unbelief interfere with the miracle He was about to perform (Matthew 17:19-20). Many of us are giving up on God right before He makes us whole. Some of us are allowing the weight of our experiences to interfere with what God has called us to do. Don't become a hindrance to your own healing!

The enemy's agenda is to take you out of the game in any way, shape, or form (John 10:10) But today, I decree and declare that we are delivered and set free from every past hurt and pain, abandonment, suicidal ideation, depression, sickness, church hurt, sexual assault, and verbal abuse. I declare that our minds are in tune and in alignment with God's Word and that we will not heed the voice of the enemy who attempts to convince us that our story is over.

God is the Alpha and the Omega and has the final say in your life.
