26 Disruption Consecration Day 9: Steer Your Mind!

Welcome to Day Nine of the ’26 Disruption Consecration!
Yesterday, we spoke about realigning with the headship of Christ. Today, we are going to talk about directing your mind to conclude the 3 day focus on mental warfare.

Today's meditation verses are:
Romans 8:5-6 NLT
5 Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit.6 So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace.7 For the sinful nature is always hostile to God. It never did obey God’s laws, and it never will.8 That’s why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God.
By now, you should realize that we are not merely recipients of what happens in our lives; we also have the opportunity to dictate what happens in our lives. We are not passive believers who accept whatever is thrown at us, but active legislators who bind and loose what we want to see. No longer can we say, “That’s just the way life is.” Now, when it comes to some things, we say, “I am able to produce the result I want to see by declaring His Word in prayer, by the leading of His Spirit.”
Going back to Day Seven, when we began the subject of mental warfare, we reviewed the instruction of the Apostle Paul to take our thoughts captive. This means that we have a choice about where we allow our minds to go. We do not have to tolerate thoughts that are not of God. If you remember anything else, remember this: YOU ARE IN CONTROL. Stop thinking otherwise. You are not a victim, but a victor if you choose to walk in the victory Christ has already given you.
Set your mind on Christ!
Colossians 3:1 NLT Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand.2 Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth.
Set your mind on good things:
Philippians 3:8 NLT And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.
Faith without works is dead (James 2:17). It is not enough to simply pray for change; you must also change your actions to reach that point. If you struggle with lustful thoughts, television with highly sexual content may not be for you (Matthew 5:28–29). If you struggle with fear, constant exposure to the news may not be for you (2 Timothy 1:7). If you struggle with comparison, the time you spend scrolling on social media may need to be limited (Galatians 6:4; Proverbs 4:23).
How badly do you want the life and peace God promised through a spiritually focused mind (Romans 8:6)? Lord, we repent of being lazy, unintentional, and inconsistent. Give us the grace to lock in, be productive, and remain consistent as we reconfigure our minds (Philippians 2:13).
What if I told you that if you do not get your mind right, you will not get your life right? Your holistic transformation is a byproduct of renewing your mind (Romans 12:2). The Bible tells us that a person is exactly how they think (Proverbs 23:7).
I hope you were intentional during the three days we focused on mental warfare (2 Corinthians 10:3–5). Christ is the head for a reason (Colossians 1:18). There is no proper government without addressing the head. You cannot be a Kingdom citizen governing the world if you cannot govern your mind (Luke 10:19; Proverbs 16:32).
Lord, teach us how to govern our minds (Psalm 19:14; Philippians 4:8).
Isaiah 26:3 NLT You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!

These past three days in regards to mental warfare has been spot on. I think people hear the scripture regarding the renewing of our minds in Romans early in their walk with Christ then push it to the side later on.
It is imperative that we build mental toughness on this road because of the things that constantly thrown at us. Just like Pastor mentioned in the devotional and reminded us of the scripture from proverbs that says we are what we think. Looking in the mirror I have realized that and I hope you have to.
That scripture also reminds me that how we respond to things is a direct reflection of what resides in our minds also.

This devotional was so good and definitely touched me. I have been asking God to help me renew my mind and to get my mind in order for the things that I want to happen in 2026. The discipline that is needed to push me into my 2026 has to be achieved at the START of this year, and it cannot be a later revelation. I must get myself in order now. In Jesus…
What you think about is what you will have. God tells us what to meditate on for a reason. Philippians 4:8 says, “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable, if anything is excellent or praiseworthy, think about such things.”
Just as we said before, we follow the Head. Whatever we think about will control the rest of our body and send signals based on those thoughts. Think good and you will have good. Think bad and you will have bad. "As a man thinketh, so is he (Proverbs 23:7)." Be intentional about putting your mind under subjection and commanding those thoughts that are not of…
